SPRING PREVIEW 2024
The 2024 FAMU Spring Preview was a vibrant and significant event that took place on March 23, 2024, attracting thousands of high school students and their parents from across the country to Florida A&M University’s Tallahassee campus. This event served a dual purpose: it welcomed students admitted for fall 2024 and also aimed to recruit prospective students for fall 2025 and beyond.
During the event, FAMU President Larry Robinson, Ph.D., addressed the attendees, highlighting the increasing competition for admission to the university. He proudly noted the rising number of applications, which reached over 20,000 for the 2024 fall semester, reflecting FAMU’s growing reputation and desirability among students.
The average GPA of admitted students was an impressive 4.01, emphasizing the academic excellence FAMU seeks in its student body. President Robinson’s speech underscored the value of a FAMU degree and the opportunities it opens for graduates.
The Spring Preview also featured a strong sense of community and legacy, with many alumni returning to share their experiences and encourage the new generation of Rattlers. For instance, incoming freshman Sahara Calloway, whose family has deep ties to FAMU, expressed her eagerness to join the university and continue the legacy.
The event was not just about speeches; it included campus tours and presentations that allowed prospective students to explore FAMU’s outstanding degree programs and get a feel for campus life.
